This for when you want destroy your friends in some friendly recreational beer related physical activities. That’s right, it’s Beer Olympics season baby. Time to drink copious amounts of beer and get insanely competitive over fun drinking games with friends! Whether you’re well-seasoned in the Beer Olympics department, or wanting to host your own Beer Olympics for the first time, we’ve got you covered.
It has been a popular trend for many years, and a wave of drinking games, most of which, let’s be honest, involve large amounts of alcohol.
The Beer Olympics are organized into teams of three represented by nations. All you need is a few teams from other nations, some Solo cups, and a ton of alcohol. This is a bracket style competition with each team facing one another is different beer related games. The winning team receives a point when a match is over, and winning this match might be more fulfilling than winning a gold medal. With each round, not only are teams eliminated, but the games get more and more intense.
The number of games is up to the organizer of the event, but should always end the same. The semi-finals should always be a stein holding relay competition, and the final should be a chug. Someone has to chug Das Boot!
This is a winner takes all competition, so if you’re not first, you’re last. Get out there and get chugging.
Beer Olympic Game Ideas
Opening Cerimony
It is a drinking game where everyone stands around in a circle while the song Thunderstruck By AC/DC is paying. The first person stars drinking until the word “Thunder” is sung and the person to their left then picks up drinking until the next “Thunder” or they finish their beer and so on. You keep going in a circle until the song is over.
Shotgun Relay
Shotgun Relay is a race where each team has to shotgun a beer and then pass it down the line. The winner is the team that can do it the fastest without spilling.
Flip Cup
The flip cup is played by filling and assembling three cups for each team member filled half way with beer for each team. The first member of each team should should drink one cup before setting it open-side-up on the edge of the table, where you will try to flip it face down. Once the cup has been flipped face down, play proceed to the next team member. Play continues moving through each team member until all cups have been flipped face down for all platers on that team. The team that finishes drinking and flipping all of its cups first wins.
Beer Ball
This is a drinking game where teams attempt to throw a ball at the other team’s beer cans on the table. Each time a beer is hit, the throwing team has to chug a beer until the ball is returned to the table. First team to finish both beers wins.
Hammerschlagen
To play you need a leather smith hammer, a tree stump, 16 penny nails, beer, and skillful aim. Each player must hammer a nail halfway into the stump, so that it can stand on its own without falling out. Once the arena is set, let the game begin. This is a relay where one player must hammer in their respective nail with out bending it. If they bend the nail, they must art over. The team that successful hammers in their nails first is the winner.
Hook and Ring
The hook and ring game has existed in some form for many years and can (at its broadest) be used to describe nearly any game played with a hook and ring. For our purposes, however, we are going to look at game boards specifically designed around the concept of a fixed peg and rings connected to the game board by a string. The concept of the game is simple: Swing the ring and catch it on the hook to score points. First team to score 7 points wins.
Beer Pong
Start by setting up 10 equal sized cups in an equilateral triangle formation. This game involves two teams, where a ping pong ball is propelled across a table aiming at one of the opponents cups. When a ball is sunk in a cup the players from the team scored upon have to drink its contents. Once all the other side's cups are empty that team has won.
